 Wiegand technology is widely recognized and field proven for nearly twenty years. The cards and readers are low cost and durable, with a high level of security. Wiegand cards were created to provide a permanently encoded card, this was at a time when magnetic stripe cards were too sensitive to magnetic fields. This problem still exists today albeit less so. How many times have you payed for an item with your credit card and watched the shop assistant swipe your card several times without effect, then watch as he/she has to enter the card number by hand?
